Blast Factor ROM Description

First, does anyone remember the game Asteroids? You control a ship in the middle, spinning around and shooting asteroids, breaking them into smaller pieces then shooting the small fragments. Sometimes, a spaceship would fly by, and you could move your ship to another location.

Apart from the movement feature, Blast Factor is basically identical to Asteroids. You are in a hexagon, moving with the left stick and shooting with the right stick. Occasionally, the game lets you tilt the Six Axis controller to create sweeping waves that clear the screen.

But really you just move, shoot, and repeat. It seems like you are in some kind of cell or petri dish, but the game doesn’t explain much.

From a gameplay perspective, this game has nothing beyond the Six Axis interactivity. Without that it should have just been a minigame. There isn’t much to do or incentive to keep playing.
